MasXtreme capsules recalled due to undeclared drugs

Natural Wellness Inc. is warning consumers not to purchase its MasXtreme product that is marketed as a dietary supplement.

According to a release from the company, the recall involves capsules sold under the Lot No. 911035. The capsules contain at least two undeclared pharmaceutical agents.

Any product containing pharmaceutical-grade drugs and it has not been listed on the label and not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration is illegal. The recall of MasXtreme capsules, sold nationwide in blister packs containing one pill, represents one in a long string of recalls of pills sold as diet pills.

The recalled lot of MasXtreme contains the pharmaceutical agents, Aildenafil, which acts similar to Sildenafil, found in FDA-approved drugs for Erectile Dysfunction. The capsules also contain Phentolamine, an alpha-adrenergic blocker.

Consumers who ingest these pills could put themselves at risk if they are on any number of other prescription drugs. These pills could also lower blood pressure rates to dangerous levels.
